Coaches

(Coaches’ Registration is now closed for 2011 – thank you for your interest.)

We believe that great parents make great coaches – with a little bit of training… We provide that training as well as the opportunity for a great experience with your child that will last a lifetime.

Overview

A typical team will have two coaches who often times share duties with one handling the offense and the other the defense. You can put in for Head Coach, Assistant Coach or both if you have no preference.

You can identify a specific coach to pair up with, allow the League to pair you up with another coach or be the coach of your own team and add a parent after the draft to coach with you.

Two coaches per team may pair up and automatically draft each of their children. However, no more than two coaches’ players may be automatically drafted to a team. This means that if a coach has two of his kids on the same team that he may not pair up with another coach before the draft but would be required to select a coach from the team he has drafted.

We allow for parents to advise the League of any coach they do not want their player to play for however this must occur prior to the draft as no accommodation will be made after the draft. No other requests will be allowed.

Teams practice once per week for one and one-half hours on either a T, W or Th at either 4:00 pm, 5:30 pm or 7:00 pm. Games are on Saturdays. Teams meet 45 minutes before game time to warm-up.

Game times are as follows

  • 5-6 Division: 8:00 am
  • 7-8 Division: 9:00 am, 10:00 am and 11:00 am
  • 9-11 Division: 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm
  • 12-14 Division: 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm

For returning coaches, please note that due to the large number of teams in the League it is no longer practical to move around games to accommodate those coaches who are coaching more than one team or have a special game time request so please plan accordingly.

Lastly, we believe that our League’s motto of ‘Competitive Fun For Everyone’ includes the coaches too! Have a great season and I look forward to seeing you at the fields.
